Indore SP adheres to his Hippocratic Oath, treats ailing covid patients

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Sahai, who is also a trained doctor, has extended his support for treating Covid infected police officials. He has the experience of working as an in-charge doctor of ICU at a reputed hospital.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): At the time when the country is facing an acute shortage of health workers and medical equipment, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Sahai, who is also a trained doctor, has extended his support for treating coronavirus infected police officials.

Sahai who currently serves as Indore special branch SP was a doctor before joining the Indian Police Service. He has the experience of working as an in-charge doctor of ICU at a reputed hospital.

He cleared the Civil Services Examinations while working as a doctor.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Sahai said that he has given spare time to treat police officials ailing from Covid-19. Further, he said that his 14-year-old son has also been under observation in the same hospital.

"I have suggested my higher officials of using my medical experience during the pandemic. With approval from higher authorities, I have dedicated my spare time at the hospital," said Sahai.

Madhya Pradesh is currently witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases. As per the Union health ministry, Madhya Pradesh on Friday reported 12,400 new Covid-19 cases and 97 casualties that raised the tally of infections to 5,63,327 and toll to 5,616.

As per the official data, in April alone, the state has recorded 2,67,816 new cases and 1,630 fatalities.
