India gives Mauritius a passenger Dornier aircraft on lease

Hyderabad: An official ceremony was conducted at the Maritime Air Squadron of the National Coast Guard, Mauritius on Tuesday for handing over the Passenger Variant Dornier (PVD) aircraft. The aircraft has been presented to Mauritius Police Force by the Indian Navy, on lease. During the handing over ceremony, Alan Ganoo, the Mauritian Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Nandini K Singla, the High Commissioner of India, the Commissioner of Police, and various other dignitaries were present.

The High Commissioner of India to Mauritius emphasised the friendly ties and naval cooperation existing between Mauritius and India, a relation which has only flourished with time. She highlighted that MSN 4059 (Dornier aircraft) has been leased to Mauritius Police Force (MPF) by the Indian Navy on a gratis basis to support the current increased load of air operations. She also mentioned that next year, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) shall be handing over a brand new state-of-the-art PVD to Mauritius and this purchase has been facilitated by the Line of Credit under the Government of Mauritius.

The gathering was then addressed by Alan Ganoo, the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Mauritius who emphasized the continued support given by India and thanked the Indian Navy for sparing a Dornier from its inventory for use by the National Coast Guard. Nandini K Singla, the High Commissioner of India handed over the interim lease PVD to Alan Ganoo, the Mauritian Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail.
