Hyderabad: A single-day rise of 35,499 new infections, 447 fatalities push India's COVID-19 tally of cases to 3,19,69,954, death toll to 4,28,309, as per the data updated by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry at 8 am on Monday. The count of active COVID-19 cases in the country has declined to 4,02,188 and the national COVID-19 recovery rate currently stands at 97.40 per cent. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,11,39,457.
More than 52.40 crore (52,40,60,890) COVID vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far of which 2.33 Cr (2,33,55,890) vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs, the ministry said. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 48,17,67,232 samples have been tested up to August 8. Of this, 13,71,871 samples were tested on Sunday.
