Salem (Tamil Nadu): Kondampatti Kattoor in Tamil Nadu's Salem district was in a celebratory mode amid the pandemic as 'Mamata Banerjee' married 'Socialism' in a simple ceremony on Sunday morning. In case you're pondering over the names, Mamata Banerjee is the bride and Socialism is the name of the groom.
A. Mohan (52), the Salem district secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), has three sons whom he has named Communism, Leninism and Socialism, respectively. This morning, Mohan's third son Socialism tied the nuptial knot with Mamata Banerjee, a young woman whose parents and grandfather among other relatives, are members of the Congress party.

Alagappan, Socialism's grandfather and Mohan's father, had joined the Communist Party at an early age and remained a staunch activist throughout. He is known for fighting for various social causes. Following his father's footsteps, Mohan, too, got involved in the Communist movement. Interestingly, Mohan's second son Leninism, too, has named his son 'Marxism'.
In the 2016 Assembly elections, Mohan had contested from the Veerapandi constituency on behalf of the People's Welfare Alliance.
