1. Modi to address 18th convocation of Tezpur University today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 18th Convocation of Tezpur University in Assam on January 22 at 10.30 am through video conferencing. A PMO release said Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will also be present on the occasion.

2. PM Modi to interact during Covid 19 vaccination drive in Varanasi today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with beneficiaries and vaccinators of the Covid 19 vaccines in his constituency Varanasi via video conference on Friday. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said the interaction would take place at 1:15 pm where the participants will share their experiences.

3. Muslim groups call for bandh today

The Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz, a conglomerate of 28 Muslim groups, has called for Muslims in Bengaluru to observe a peaceful bandh on January 22. The bandh has been called in support of the "innocents" who have been jailed in the Bengaluru riots case.

4. Another round of talks between farmers and govt today

The 10th meeting between the Centre and protesting farmers resulted in what can be termed as a breakthrough in the ongoing impasse, as the Centre has proposed to suspend the three contentious farm laws for 1.5 to two years. The next round of meeting will be held on January 22.

5. 'Hunar Haat' to be held in Lucknow from today

Hunar Haat, the minority affairs ministry’s initiative to generate employment for master artisans, will be held in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow from January 22 to February 4 with the theme of ‘vocal for local’.
