Hyderabad police arrest human traffickers

Police in Hyderabad have arrested five human traffickers who came to India on tourist visas. The group was running a prostitution business on a dating app, according to reports.

Hyderabad: Police in Hyderabad have arrested five human traffickers who came to India on tourist visas, reports said. The group was running a prostitution business on a dating app. The group had uploaded pictures of women with phone numbers and collected money from customers online or through prostitutes.

In a joint operation, police and anti-human trafficking teams collected details through the app and conducted a decoy operation to arrest the accused. They contacted one of the organisers and as per the instructions reached a lodge in Chaitanyapuri.

The team arrested three young women from Uganda. The police further arrested two more members of the same group. The police have also seized drugs and mobiles. The accused were sent to police remand. The group was staying in the country illegally after the expiry of their visas.
