New Delhi: Juggling responsibilities between dealing with the ongoing crisis in Punjab Congress on one end and handling the party's preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Uttrakhand, Harish Rawat, on Saturday, had a meeting with Rahul Gandhi at his residence, here in Delhi.
This comes a day after he briefed Congress chief Sonia Gandhi about the prevailing situation in Punjab. Rawat had made a request to party high command to relieve him from the post of Punjab Congress incharge so that he can focus on his state elections.
When asked about the matter, Rawat informed the media that he will continue to work in Punjab for as long as the party high command wants.
He also informed that he will visit Chandigarh in the next two or three days to meet Punjab PCC Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and other leaders who have launched a revolt against the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
On Friday, Navjot Singh Sidhu had tweeted a video where he was seen threatening the party high command by saying that it will be "disastrous" if he is not given freedom in decision making.

To this, Congress MP Manish Tewari made a veiled attack on him by using one of the famous lines of poet Akbar Allahabadi "ham aah bhi karte hain to ho jaate hain badnaam, vo qatl bhi karte hain to charcha nahi hoti (Even if we sigh, we get infamous, and even if they kill someone, there is no talk about it)."
When asked about it, Rawat replied, "These things are being done just for media spotlight. Sometimes, we should enjoy it."
Rawat also claimed that there will be no change in leadership as Captain Amarinder Singh is working hard for the state and he has recently taken some of the major decisions for the welfare of Punjab.
