A facility housing US troops in eastern Syria came under attack late Sunday when rockets were fired from nearby areas, an opposition war monitor and a spokesman for US-backed fighters said. However, the US military denied any attack.

Indian and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik on Sunday apologised for his sexist comments which he made on air during the second ODI between Sri Lanka and England.

The BJP on Sunday hit out at the Congress for raising questions over the Rafale deal and sought to know why its government did not procure the fighter planes for 10 years despite a depleted squadron strength of the Indian Air Force. 'Is it because the Gandhi family did not get their desired 'commission'?' asked BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.

2. Ex-UP CM Kalyan Singh admitted to ICU of SGPGI in Lucknow

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences here on Sunday evening, according to an official statement.

3. Maha govt to move resolution rejecting Centre's farm laws in monsoon session: Sources

Rejection of the three Central agriculture laws is one of the three resolutions approved by the Maharashtra cabinet on Sunday which will be moved in the monsoon session of the state legislature beginning Monday, sources said.

4. NHRC directs Maha chief secy to ensure proper medical care to Stan Swamy

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Sunday asked the Maharashtra chief secretary to ensure that every possible effort is made to provide jailed rights activist Stan Swamy with proper medical care and treatment.  

5. Wimbledon: Centre, No. 1 Court to have full capacity from Quarter-Finals

All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club (AELTC) on Sunday announced that Centre and Number 1 Court will have 100 per cent capacity crowds for the Quarter-Finals, with Centre also at 100 per cent for the Semi-Finals and Finals for the ongoing Wimbledon Championships.
