Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday raided six locations linked to Shiv Sena leader and former MP Anandrao Adsul in Mumbai in connection with a bank fraud case. According to sources, Adsul was taken to a hospital after his health condition deteriorated while the raid was underway at his residence.
The ED officials reached Adsul's residence at Kandivali East around 7.30 am. The teams also raided the office of Adsul's son Captain Abhijit Adsul. Security was beefed up after Shiv Sena workers started gathering outside Adsul's residence in the morning in support of their party leader.
The Shiv Sena leader was scheduled to be brought to the ED office today for questioning in connection with the alleged fraud to the tune of Rs 980 crore in City Co-operative bank.
In the first week of September, ED officials had conducted searches in multiple locations including the bank premises as part of the investigation.
