New Delhi: Senior lawyer Dushyant Dave resigned from his post of President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Thursday.
Dave said that he has forfeited his right to continue to lead the SCBA and hence has resigned from the post.
Acting SCBA Secretary Rohit Panday confirmed the development that the senior advocate has resigned with immediate effect.
In a brief letter, Dave said that his term had already come to an end and while electing a new governing body soon may not be possible "due to reservations held by some lawyers", but he felt it to be morally wrong to continue as the President of the SCBA.
Dave also expressed his gratitude to all the members of the SCBA.
He thanked all the members for their contribution during the Covid-19 pandemic.
