Chennai: Prominent DMK leader A Raja has apologised for insults aimed at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Planiswami at an election campaign in the state.
The former federal telecom minister in his apology said he was pained to see Palanswami break down and his intention was not to hurt him.
"I never thought of attacking his personal life. I was only drawing a parallel between him and with (DMK leader) MK Stalin," he said.
The apology came a day after Palaniswami became emotional and broke down over the remark while campaigning for the assembly elections.
