Wayanad: Relatives of a tribal man who died of bee stings say that his body was neglected by authorities and an autopsy was not performed even two days after his death.
Even though the body was taken to Kozhikode medical college hospital, the authorities refused to carry out the autopsy citing the absence of surgeon, as per the relatives' allegation.
Gopalan who lived in Palnada tribal colony at Kenichira in Wayanad died after being stung by bees on November 29. The relatives carried the body to Sulthan Bathery Taluk Hospital in Wayanad first before being turned away.
Kozhikode Medical College Hospital also refused to do a post-mortem examination, according to relatives.
Relatives of the man who protested against the authorities said his body has started to decompose and no help was coming.
