New Delhi: Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court will hear the anticipatory bail plea filed by Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) MP Prince Raj in the FIR filed in connection with the alleged rape case on Thursday. The matter will be heard by Special judge MK Nagpal.
The LJP MP from Bihar's Samastipur who has been accused in the case, on September 14 (Tuesday) had moved an anticipatory bail plea in the Delhi Court, seeking protection from arrest. Earlier, Delhi Police had filed an FIR on directions from a Delhi court against Raj in connection with the rape case filed at the Connaught Place police station by the victim.

The court on September 9 passed the order to register FIR against Prince Raj and his cousin Chirag Paswan following the victim's complaint. Prince Raj is the son of Chirag's late uncle Ramchandra Paswan.
The woman had alleged that Prince sexually assaulted her when she became unconscious after having consumed a drink that was spiked. Though a police investigation into the case was launched, no FIR was registered then.
The victim in her complaint had mentioned that she had met Prince Paswan about a year ago at the party office. After that, they began seeing each other and during one such meeting, her drink was spiked. It was then that she fell unconscious, and was raped, the woman mentioned. She also alleged that the MP was having a relationship with her by repeatedly threatening her of leaking her obscene videos.

Earlier, Raj in an FIR dated February 10, 2021, had alleged that the woman honey-trapped him and demanded a sum of Rs1 crore. "Under fear of being defamed in public I gave them a total amount of Rs2 lakh. However, they kept on blackmailing me in order to extort more money," the LJP MP had added.
The complainant had initially filed a case against the LJP MP four months ago. The FIR also named LJP leader Chirag Paswan, for having allegedly conspired in delaying action against his cousin Raj.
Speaking on the matter, Raj had said that there is evidence, but it cannot be revealed as the matter is in the court. He further said that there should not be a media trial of the matter.
Meanwhile, the LJP national spokesperson Shravan Agarwal had defended MP Prince Raj saying that the allegations against the latter are a political conspiracy to defame his image.
