Hyderabad: A single day rise of 38,353 COVID-19 infections, 497 fatalities pushed India's tally of cases to 32,036,511 and death toll to 4,29,179, as per the data updated by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry at 8 am on Wednesday. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 97.45 per cent, the ministry said.
The active caseload currently stands at 3,86,351, the lowest in 140 days. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, a total of 48,50,56,507 samples tested up to August 10, of which, 17,77,962 samples were tested on Tuesday. As per the data, more than 53.24 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 51,56,11,035 doses.
