While speaking over the need of launching this channel, Randeep Singh Surjewala said, "Today, subjugation and suppression of dissent and opinion is near total in this country. INC TV is a digital media platform for the dissemination of views and opinions, both of which may be acceptable to us or some which may not be."

He further added, "The whole idea is that various shades of opinions must be placed on the table and deliberately discussed and debated in order to arrive at one conclusion. One size suits all doesn't suit this country. This platform is not for celebrating or eulogizing one individual but the thought of Congress party."

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been repeatedly alleging that the national media doesn't give enough coverage to the views and opinions of opposition parties. Other leaders of the opposition parties have also accused the media of being "partisan".

Meanwhile, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjun Kharge slammed the Union Government alleging that every 11 minutes, there is an attack on a Dalit in India. He also said that even Ambedkar had believed that journalism has become a trade in our country, which has proven right by the BJP Government. "This truth of our country has been long concealed. Our nation has the right to hear the truth. Through this channel, we aim to bring it out," he added.
