New Delhi: At a time when the grand old party has been reeling under immense pressure from their own dissenters, a group of four Congress MLAs from Jharkhand have reached the national capital to narrate their grievances to the party top leadership on Wednesday. They told ETV Bharat that the other party leaders who are working with them had described bogus report to the top leaders in Delhi.

"When we meet them, we came to know that our fellow colleagues who are close to us have published a false report card in front of the party leaders. When we discussed the on-ground report, they were shocked and later appreciated us for our noble work during the covid pandemic," said Congress MLA from Jamtara, Irfan Ansari after conducting an hour-long meeting with party General Secretary KC Venugopal in Delhi.

Further, the MLA demanded an appointment of a Congress leader over a seat that has been vacant since the party came in power. "We are sharing an alliance with JMM and RJD in the state. We don't have any problem with Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Since their leaders are assisting the state as CM and speaker, so we want a Congress leader in the vacant seat," added Ansari.

He maintained that we have the support of seven MLAs, out of which four have come to meet the party top leaders. The other three did not able to reach because of personal reasons, added Ansari on condition of anonymity. Surprisingly, the leaders demanded the appointment of a new President of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, which is currently under the hold of Jharkhand finance minister Rameshwar Oraon.

Notably, Congress is part of the ruling alliance in the state.
