Hyderabad: The crisis in Punjab may have dissipated with the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh and the appointment of Charanjit Singh Channi as the new Chief Minister. However, the 79-year-old leader is hurt by the whole political manoeuvring by Navjot Singh Sidhu's camp. Today, the former Chief Minister in a series of tweets slammed Navjot Singh Sidhu and expressed his displeasure on Congress.

Expressing his unhappiness over the whole issue, Captain Amarinder Singh wrote that he was prepared to leave politics after the party's victory but never after a loss. He added that he offered his resignation to Congress president Sonia Gandhi but she asked him to continue. He added that had she (Sonia Gandhi) called me and asked me to step down, he would have done so.

The veteran Congress leader said that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are like his children and this (resignation) should not happen like this. He added that he is hurt and the Gandhi siblings are inexperienced and their advisors are clearly misguiding them.

In another tweet, Captain slammed the three Congress leaders - K. C. Venugopal, Ajay Maken, and Randeep Singh Surjewala for deciding who's right for which ministry. He added that when he was the CM, he appointed the ministers for their effectiveness and not for their caste.

Captain Amarinder directed his ire on Navjot Singh Sidhu, Charanjit Singh Channi, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Punjab Congress by asking several questions. He wrote that he was attacked for not taking action against ministers allegedly involved in the mining mafia. Those very ministers are now with the new Punjab government.

In another tweet, he wrote that Sidhu and co complained against him for taking arbitrary action against the Badals. Now they are in power, let them throw the Akali leaders behind bars if they can. Focusing his ire on his nemesis Navjot Singh Sidhu, Captain Amarinder tweeted that if Sidhu behave as super CM, the Punjab Congress won't function. Under his master's leadership, it would be a big thing if Congress manages to reach double digits in Punjab polls.

The former CM also gave an indication of his future move in one of his tweets and wrote that he is ready to make any sacrifice to stop Navjot Singh Sidhu from becoming the Punjab CM. He added that he will pit a strong person against him to ensure his defeat in the 2022 Assembly polls. He added that if Sidhu is the CM face, then it will be a big thing if Congress touches double digits.

Clearly, Amarinder Singh has declared his intention to oppose Navjot Sidhu in the upcoming 2022 assembly elections. But as of now, he is still a Congressman. This won't last long for Captain Amarinder Singh, as he is now actively looking for options.
