Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): In a shocking statement, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti alleged that BJP and their supporters can resort to violence and may orchestrate any militant attack or grenade attack to benefit in DDC polls scheduled to be held from 28th November in Jammu and Kashmir. She further added that BJP is afraid of PAGD.
She said their decision to join the poll fray was the reason that the PAGD candidates were barred from campaigning in southern districts and other parts of Kashmir.
Mehbooba Mufti had earlier accused the Centre of "sabotaging" the participation of political parties other than the BJP in the District Development Council (DDC) polls in Jammu and Kashmir by not allowing them to campaign freely.
Mehbooba's allegations came as major political parties in the Valley, including the NC and the PDP, blame lack of a level-playing field for the elections, accusing the administration of locking up their candidates in accommodations at several places and not allowing them to campaign.
The National Conference (NC) president and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah made a fervent appeal to the voters to choose the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) in the upcoming District Development Councils election. Farooq also urged the voters to ensure the party's victory in huge margins as the party envisions to restore Article 370 and Article 35A.
