Kolkata: The already soured ties between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) took an ugly turn after the convoy of BJP National President JP Nadda was attacked with stones, bricks and sticks. The leaders were going to Diamond Harbour to address an internal organisational programme.
Party sources have revealed that BJP is planning to organise a big rally against TMC in the state with the help of its senior party leaders.
Talking to ETV Bharat, BJP National spokesperson Gopal Agarwal said, "The attack on our party's national president is totally condemnable and will be remembered as a black day in history. 130 BJP workers have been brutally killed but still, the state police has failed to take any action. This is disappointing. We want to tell TMC that we won't accept this and will give a befitting reply to them in the future. BJP party workers follow the principles of democracy and Mamata Banerjee should not forget that BJP will come to power in the state.
BJP has alleged that TMC is behind this attack and said that there is complete lawlessness in the state. The saffron party will also emphasise that state assembly elections are not possible without the implementation of President's rule.
