New Delhi: Congress party, on Monday, once again launched a scathing attack against the Central Government for its vaccination policy, alleging that "BJP believes in only vote security and not vaccine security".

In a video statement, Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill said, "With only 3.5% of India's population being vaccinated, it is now clear that the BJP Government has a use ad throw policy for the voters. BJP is in full action mode when it is time to seek 'Ghar Ghar Ki Vote' but incomplete hibernation when it is time to give 'Ghar Ghar Ko Vaccine'."

He further added, "Before the election, BJP hops from home to home to give voter slips but today, entire BJP brigade is staying comfortably in their homes when it comes to ensuring vaccine registration. What is the Government's plan to ensure registration to the 55% of India's population which does not have access to the internet?"

This comes after Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri accused the Congress-led state governments of wasting shots or profiteering off it. Calling it a 'culture' of Congress, Puri had said, "The Congress party has been fueling vaccine hesitancy. Rahul Gandhi asks where is the vaccine for our children. That vaccine is in the garbage in Rajasthan and profits are being made on that vaccine in Punjab."

Firing a salvo at the Government, Shergill said, "The truth of the matter is BJP Government's lack of planning and lackadaisical approach has cost millions of lives. BJP should have distributed vaccines with the same passion and planning as they seek votes during the election."

He asked, "If 80 plus crore voters can be brought to polling stations to cast votes in the span of two months during national elections, why can’t vaccination to the same population be administered in two months? Why differential treatment for votes and vaccines."
