Speaking to media on Friday, Vishwanath accused Yediyurappa of succumbing to “blackmail” by BJP MLC C P Yogeshwar while accommodating him in the Cabinet and dropping Nagesh and Munirathna.

Vishwanath lashed out at Yediyurappa, calling him a promiseless politician. "Still, I respect Yediyurappa as a good politician, but, even his good attributes have turned bad owing to his selfishness and family's intrusion in politics."

"I have already asked for permission to meet Amit Shah on January 17 during his arrival in Karnataka. I would bring all the political developments in the state to his notice," he added.

He asked Yediyurappa to keep his promise. He should protect the interests of the people, who had sacrificed their political interests to make him the Chief Minister. He gravely objected to the inclusion of Yogeshwar in the Cabinet, whom he accused of indulging in anti-party activities during the by-polls in Hunsur, leading to his defeat.

Vishwanath expressed displeasure over talks that MLC C P Yogeshwar is being inducted into the Cabinet. "Yediyurappa is a kind-hearted man, I have seen in him in the past 30 years. His son Vijayendra is the reason for these all expansions and other bad things in the State as well as in politics," he said.
