Bihar: 8-year-old girl raped and murdered, eyes gouged out

In what could be termed as horrific, an 8-yr old girl, was allegedly raped and murdered in Bihar's Munger on Wednesday, wherein the criminals gouged out her eyes and removed her nails.

Munger (Bihar): In what could be termed as horrific, an 8-year-old girl studying in Class 2 was allegedly raped and murdered in Bihar’s Munger district on Wednesday night. Her body was found near a brick kiln in a village under Safiabad PS limits on Thursday. According to police, the girl's eyes had been gouged out and her fingernails removed. The girl had gone with her father to the banks of the Ganga river for fishing, the girl's relatives said, adding that when the girl insisted her father for five rupees, he told her to go home and immediately the girl got down from the boat and walked away. However, the father had returned home, but the girl didn't, they added. It was after several hours, that her family members had initiated a search, police said, adding that the minor girl's body was finally found on Thursday morning.

It was some children who had spotted the dead body of the girl lying near the kiln in the village. The police having investigated the crime scene took the body in their possession and sent it to District Hospital for post-mortem. Munger district Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nand Ji Prasad confirmed that the body of the girl has been recovered. Looking at the dead body, it seems that child has been murdered, the SDPO added. Action is being taken based on the complaint of the father of the deceased child, the official said, adding that an investigation is underway.
