Dharwad (Karnataka): In a video going viral on social media, a woman hailing from Australia could be seen crying and pleading for help outside the District Commissioner’s office in Dharwad district of Karnataka.
In the video, shot by one of the bystanders, Naisha could be seen approaching police personnel standing outside the DC’s office seeking help after her visa expired a few days ago amid coronavirus-induced lockdown.
Dharwad police superintendent Vartika Katiyar, who was visiting the DC, saw the woman crying and assured her that she would help her reach Delhi and get in touch with the Australian embassy.
The woman reportedly came to Hubli to study about the Indian culture, Yoga, and spirituality and got stuck once the lockdown was imposed to combat coronavirus disease.
