Due to the lockdown across most of the nations to curb the spread of coronavirus, the song was shot using mobile phones, the video involves the participation of 20 different families and about 150 people from all over the world. The composer, Roshan D’souza expounded that 'The Earth Song' has been composed, compiled and presented to the people of earth as a gift without any monetary benefit or personal interest involved in it.

He added that besides spreading joy, the song is basically an attempt to raise the awareness amongst people for our Mother Earth and the necessity of taking care of her so that we leave a better planet for generations to come.

The concept of the song initially started with Roshan contemplating to give a new life to an old tune composed in 2011. However, two of his music-fond versatile friends pitched in to make it a musical success.
