Srinagar: An army soldier and two local girls have been detained by the tourist police when they were travelling in Kashmir under mysterious circumstances.
According to the sources, all three persons have been detained and are being questioned at the police station. Police sources said that the army soldier has been identified as Sepoy Roshan Kumar of 17 Bihar Regiment. Both the girls are from Teetwal Kupwara and the soldier in question is also posted at Teetwal.
"All the three have been handed over to the police and are being questioned," a police officer told ETV Bharat requesting anonymity.
A police official told ETV Bharat on condition on anonymity that they were handed over to police who questioned them.
The trio was travelling to Delhi when they came under the scanner of state police and were detained at the Srinagar International Airport.

Earlier on September 12, an army officer with two local girls were detained at the Srinagar Airport The soldier was identified as Ashok Kumar Paul, a resident of Uttar Pradesh who was deputed as Ajas Bandipora with 13 Rashtriya Rifles. The army sources said that disciplinary action was initiated against Kumar.
Police sources had said two girls were also held. Both are the residents of Bandipora's Ajas area.
In 2019, Indian Army had initiated Court Martial against Major Leetul Gogio for "fraternising" with a local woman and he was punished for six months. Gogoi had hit the headlines in April 2017 during parliamentary elections when he had tied a local man in Budgam to a jeep as a shield and paraded him in the locality.
The incident sparked wide outrage in Kashmir and human rights organisations had condemned the act.
