Two female Rhinos to be translocated to Manas National Park

Under the Indian Rhino Vision programme, two female rhinos will be translocated from Kaziranga National Park to Manas National Park. This initiative is a part of the country's aim to take one-horn rhino population to 3,000.

Kaziranga (Assam): Two female Rhinos to be translocated from Kaziranga National Park to Manas National Park under the Indian Rhino Vision programme.

These two Rhinos were captured in Western Range at Bagori. This is a part of India's aim to take one-horn rhino population in the country to 3,000 this year.

Manas, which did not have even a single Rhino in last 10 years, will now become home for 43 Rhinos.

Assam Forest Minister, Parimal Suklabaidya, said, “Under IRV 2020 agreement, International Rhino Foundation helped us. The Rhino population of Kaziranga is 2, 439. At one point of time, Rhino population of Manas National Park was zero but now it has increased to 43.”(ANI REPORT)
