Virudhunagar (TN): Three persons were killed and seven others were injured in an explosion at a fireworks unit near Sattur in Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu.

The factory was owned by Prabhakar of Chinnagammanpattai and had about 15 rooms and over 30 people working on the fire crackers manufacturing. One room collapsed in the explosion and three people died in that room.
The injured people were taken to Sattur and Sivakasi hospitals for the treatment of the burns.
Firefighters also reached the spot and carried out the rescue operation.
The police are investigating into the matter.
