Bengaluru (Karnataka): With stray animals having a hard time fetching food for themselves amid a COVID-19 induced nationwide lockdown, a software engineer from Karnataka’s Bengaluru has turned saviour to more than 1,200 such helpless creatures.
Rekha Mohan, a software engineer by profession and the head of Happy Falls Foundation - an organisation dedicated to the cause of stray and abandoned animals - has been feeding more than 1,200 stray dogs and other animals every day.
Mohan cooks 75 kilograms of rice and 60 kilograms of chicken every day at a cost of Rs. 5,000 to feed the stray animals.

Inspired by her noble gesture, several animal lovers have offered a helping hand.
“I am receiving help from others, and I will continue to feed these animals until the lockdown is lifted and beyond,” Mohan told ETV Bharat.
Mohan has so far raised 29 stray animals including 17 dogs and 12 cats.
