Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu): A private startup - Atal Incubation Centre - funded by Government of India has developed a low cost ventilator with all electronic features with an estimated cost of Rs 25,000.
The market price of such ventilators goes up to Rs 2,50,000.
The name of the ventilator is Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing Ventilator (IPPV).

The trial of this ventilator has been conducted at multiple hospitals and AIC will further file an application to ICMR for certification. This project was initiated and developed by a team of young students at Coimbatore.
