While speaking to ETV Bharat, Shukla said that the situation of Delhi is under control now. The Delhi police is taking all the possible step to stop the violence.

He further added, "AAP leader Sanjay Singh is protecting their leader Tahir Hussain. He is now absconding as a murder case is filed against him for killing an IB officer. Once he gets arrested, everyone will know, how Singh is involved in all this."

Responding to criticism about the role of Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra's provocative speech for triggering the clashes and the failure of the Delhi Police, which reports to the former BJP chief and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in controlling the violence that has claimed at least 42 lives, he said, "Party has not approved of such comments. Senior party leaders have publicly condemned it."

After four days of violence in the national capital’s North-East district, a team of Delhi Police finally swung into action and collected crucial evidence from a building owned by suspended AAP Councillor Tahir Hussain who has been charged in connection with the killing of IB staffer Ankit Sharma.

Sonia Gandhi, targeting both the ruling BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said: "The centre and the newly-elected Delhi government were mute spectators to the violence." The Congress chief has appointed a 5-member team to visit the affected areas and submit a detailed report to her. (with agency inputs)
