Harmeet Singh, who is a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's Chakesar city, hit the headlines after he was hired as an anchor by a news channel, Public News channel, in Pakistan in 2018.

"Being a journalist, I am subjected to this kind of discrimination. Imagine what would be the plight of a common man in Pakistan who belongs to the minority community," he said in the video.

In another video, he can be seen talking to a local police official and explaining him about various atrocities on the Sikh community in the past and how the cases were never solved.

Ravinder was killed by an unidentified person in Peshawar on January 5. The body was found in the Chamkani police station area of Peshawar.

Harmeet was called from Ravinder's cellphone informing him about the murder.

Meanwhile, the family of the victim got to know about his death from a phone call by the unidentified assailant, suggesting that the incident could be a case of personal enmity.

Ravinder, who had lived in Malaysia for four years, had come to Pakistan a month ago to shop for his wedding, which was scheduled in February.

The body has been shifted to a hospital for postmortem.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
