Ernakulam (Kerala): Malayalam actor Dharmajan Bolgatty recorded his statement before police here on Monday in connection with Kochi actor Shamna Kasim money extortion case.
Talking to reporters, Dharmajan said that he received call from the accused asking for Shamna Kasim’s contact number and later they got her number from Shaji Pattikkara who is a production controller.
"They introduced themselves as gold smugglers who seek help from celebrities for their work. They once again called me asking to introduce them to Shamna," the actor said adding that initially he had not considered their calls serious and thought that it's a prank.
Police have also arrested make-up artist Harris who a native of Chavakkad and is believed to be the main conspirer in the case.
As per police sources, five more complaints have been lodged against the accused.
