Harsh Chugh, a part-time tutor filed the petition in the top court alleging that Zoom application can violate the right to privacy of people as well as become a threat for national security.
In his plea, Chugh pointed out that there is an increase in the usage of Zoom application during the lockdown and in most of the cases people have misused the application. It is also being misused during online classes as minors have found to use it to watch pornographic images, Chugh added.
Besides, the plea also sought directions to the government to carry out an exhaustive technical study into the security and privacy risks of Zoom.
