New Delhi: After the senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Saifuddin Soz's video went viral, Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill on Friday said that the video of Soz exposes BJP's blatant lies and party's dictatorial face.

According to sources, On Thursday, Congress leader Saifuddin Soz scaled the boundary wall of his residence in the summer capital Srinagar to “prove” that he was not a free man, but kept under “illegal house detention”.

Soz further alleged that he has been detained in his house, without a formal order, since August 5 last year, when Central Government revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

However, the Supreme Court was being told by the Government that Soz is not under detention and he is free to move anywhere.

Speaking to ETV Bharat regarding this, Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill said, "The video of Mr Saifuddin Soz exposes BJP's blatant lies and it's the dictatorial face. There is no doubt about the fact that the petition filed by Mr Soz's family unleashed the contempt and perjury BJP had committed by lying to the Supreme Court."

Shergill said, "As a petition has already been filed by his family, Indian National Congress stands with its leaders in the fight against dictatorial and tyranny loaded approach of BJP."

"As far as political strategy is concerned, INC without any doubt holds that BJP Government is unleashing it's dictatorial powers, trampling upon conditional rights of its citizens and committing an act of perjury and contempt of SC. The fight on the streets for upholding the Constitution, Congress has, will and always continue to fight," Shergill added.

Notably, Soz himself had said that he would sue the government for his "unlawful house arrest" since August 5, 2019, while teeming the government's response in SC as "falsehood".
