Congress MP Ravneet Bittu alleged manhandling by Delhi Police during candle March near Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday evening and they will raise the issue in the parliament. Ravneet Singh Bittu, Jasbir Singh Gill, Santokh Chaudary and Gurjit Singh Aujla of Congress were holding candle march and proceeding towards Rashtrapati Bhawan when police officials stopped them.

New Delhi: After alleged manhandling of four Congress MPs from Punjab by police on Monday, Congress MP Ravneet Bittu said that the matter will be raised in Parliament.

Four Punjab Congress MPs alleged manhandling by Delhi Police during candle March near Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday evening. Member Parliament was protesting against Farm Bills passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Ravneet Singh Bittu, Jasbir Singh Gill, Santokh Chaudary and Gurjit Singh Aujla of Congress were holding candle march and proceeding towards Rashtrapati Bhawan when police officials stopped them. Within moments, the scuffle broke between Parliamentarians and Police.

While talking to media Bittu said," We were protesting against farm bills when police attacked us. Media saved us. We will raise this matter in Lok Sabha and if required we ll will boycott proceeding. Eight Rajya Sabha MPs are protesting against bills. Govt is not listening to farmer pleas. Haryana CM ML Khattar has stopped farmers from reaching Delhi. I appeal to him to let farmers come here and raise their concerns with govt."

"MSP was hiked by Rs 50 yesterday which is only 2.6% and lowest ever. It is a cruel joke with farmers and you cannot befool them. We will not allow private players to enter the Agri sector in our state. We are standing with farmers," he added.

Congress has protested against bills in Punjab.

Ravneet Bittu said that party will plan and protest against bills nationwide.

The Farm Bills have resulted in massive protests in Punjab and MPs are also protesting. As a protest Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from Union cabinet and future of the alliance between Akali Dal and BJP depends on a core committee meeting of Akali Dal. Navjot Singh Sidhu is likely to join farmers in their protest on Wednesday.
