New Delhi: Union home minister, Amit Shah on Tuesday assured a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits that the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits was the utmost priority of the Narendra Modi government.
Shah also said that separate townships will be build in at least 10 districts of Jammu and Kashmir and temples will also be rebuild in the valley.
Home Minister Amit Shah gave this assurance to a delegation of seven member Kashmiri Pandits who called him at North Block on Tuesday evening.
In the meeting that continued for almost half an hour, the delegation appealed Home Minister Shah to address the issue of displaced pandits on a priority basis.
They also appealed Shah to take immediate steps for the safe return of the community to Kashmir who were forced to flee Kashmir during early 1990's due to threat imposed by Islamist terrorists.
Home Minister Shah also assured the delegation that the central government will come up with special provisions of age relaxation for government jobs for the Pandit community.
The delegation members also expressed their happiness for abrogating Article 370 and 35A.
The delegation included Surinder Kaul,international coordinator of Global Kashmiri Pandit diaspora,Utpal Kaul, GKPD India coordinator; Anil Kachroo, GKPD USA, Taj Tikoo, president of the All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), Dileep Mattoo, president Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch and AJKVM members Sanjay Ganjoo and Parikshit Kaul.
