Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh): A female welfare officer on Tuesday was abused and assaulted by a group of students inside a classroom at Gandhi Sewa Niketan in Chak Dhaurahra area of Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli district.
The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera, showing the students getting into an argument with the welfare officer before one of the boys assaults her by hurling a chair at her as she tried to escape the room. The boys can also be seen snatching and throwing her handbag away from her.
Officer, in the meantime, has accused the management of provoking the young students to commit the crime.
"I work at the Gandhi Seva Niketan Ashram. The manager of the institution provoked the students to beat and abuse me. I was hit with chairs and slapped by children. I am here to file my complaint with the District Magistrate," She told reporters as she stood outside the DM's office.
"The administration of the Ashram has been troubling me. Two days ago, the door of the washroom was locked while I was inside," said the officer, alleging that she was mistreated even in the past.
