Puducherry: In a good gesture, Puducherry Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao cleaned a toilet at a COVID-19 ward at Indira Gandhi Govt Medical College & Hospital, during his visit to the hospital today. Rao cleaned the toilet after continuous complaints from people that it was not maintained well.
The minister paid a visit to COVID wards at the hospital and during his inspection, he received complaints of unclean toilets. Patients in the corona ward alleged that toilets were unclean as they were frequently used by a good chunk of patients.
After listening to the complaint, the minister swung into action and asked for a cleaning brush and liquid, went inside the toilet and started cleaning the toilet himself. Rao also inspected the toilets and instructed the Hospital Management to make sure that sanitary personnel clean the toilets on a regular basis.
