New Delhi: CPI general secretary D Raja on Monday vehemently criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his pro-American and imperialist policy.
Speaking exclusively with ETV Bharat, Raja said, "At a time when the American economy is in deep trouble, they found India as it's a potential market to sell its products and India under Narendra Modi's leadership is succumbing to US pressure," said Raja.
Reacting on the ongoing visit of US President Donald Trump to India, Raja said that when Narendra Modi went to the US he addressed Howdy-Modi programme.
"The Howdy-Modi campaign was done keeping the election in mind...Now Donald Trump came to India...these two leaders are working with their agenda," said Raja.

He said that the left parties on Monday staged a protest demonstration in New Delhi opposing Trump's India visit.
"The protest demonstration was organised by All India Peace and Solidarity Organisations, which was supported by Left parties. The protest programme was also supported by several other organisations," said Raja adding that Indians are in distress for Narendra Modi's pro-American policies.
Raja alleged that America has made India as its target mainly to rule across Asia.
"The US wants to keep India as its small ally especially to contain the Chinese influence in the Asian region," said Raja.
Further criticising Narendra Modi, Raja said that Modi never wants that Trump could see the poverty that prevails in India.
"A wall has been built at Ahmedabad ahead of Trump's visit. The wall was made so that neither the people living in slums can see US President nor Trump can see the slums in India," said Raja.
A half kilometre brick wall with 1,640 ft was hurriedly constructed allegedly to block the view of a slum area inhabited by more than 2,000 people.
