New Delhi: The Congress on Monday criticised the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the statements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and alleged that he could not uplift the life of the common man.
While attacking PM Modi, he said, "In the past five years, Prime Minister could not uplift the standard of living of people of our country but he completely single-handedly lowered the standard of politics in India."
Criticising BJP over the remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Late Rajiv Gandhi, the Congress party said that BJP is in "electoral depression."
Addressing the media, Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill alleged that Prime Minister had "single-handedly lowered the standard of politics in India."
"Statements made by the BJP has given a clear impression that the party is in electoral depression," he said.
"By attacking late Rajiv Gandhi, Narendra Modi has proved that BJP campaign has reached a dead end," he added.
He also urged the first time voters to consult all the citizens who voted in 2014 General Elections before casting their votes. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
