New Delhi: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions for the appointment of a government nominee to the Ayodhya mosque trust constituted for the construction of the mosque.

The petition has been jointly filed by Shishir Chaturvedi and Karunesh Kumar Shukla through Senior Advocate Hari Shanker Jain who appeared for one of the Hindu parties in Ram Janmbhumi- Babri masjid dispute of Ayodhya.

The petitioners have contended that "Indo Islamic Cultural Foundation Trust" will get donations from various Indians and foreign countries and in such a case government must control any malpractice and misuse of money received by making itself a part of it.
