New Delhi: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday launched a web portal Rail Drishti to make railways more passenger friendly and to promote transparency and accountability.

"The portal will give out information about various trains, stations, tickets sold and enable the public to watch live feed from IRCTC kitchens across the country," Goyal said at a press conference at the Rail Bhavan here.

Speaking to ETV Bharat he said, "In order to stop cyber attacks and hacking we have put several firewalls. We are competent enough to do so."

Hailing Modi government he said, "This government has worked for the development of the country and its people. It is now on public... it is time to see their mandate."

The Minister even suggested to make the URL simpler by omitting 'cris' from its web address.

The portal can be reached at www.raildrishti.cris.org.in.

Intro:To make Railways more passenger friendly and transparent, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal launched 'Rail Drishti' web portal in the national capital today.


Body:Now commuters of India's apex transporter can not only access miniscule details of any station at one click from raildrishti.cris.org but also put their grievances there.

Through Rail Drishti, waiting list passengers can know about their reservation status, running train schedule, developmental works at different stations and monitor live feed from pantry cars on real time basis.

Crediting Prime Minister Modi's vision of corruption free governance, Union Rail Mantri said, 'this government believes in people's cooperation from day one. We have focused ourselves to every section of this country. We are answerable to people of this country.'

Responding to ETV Bharat's question about how it plans to deal with cyber attacks, the minister said, 'several fire walls have been put in place so it doesn't become subject to cyber attacks or hacking. We are competent enough to do so.'


Conclusion:The Minister even suggested to make this website more user friendly by omitting 'cris' from its web address. Rail Drishti is open for public use from now onwards.
