After being denied bail by Delhi High Court, Former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram moves a fresh application seeking home-cooked food during Judicial custody.

New Delhi: Former finance minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday moved an application in a Delhi court seeking home-cooked food in Tihar Jail where he is lodged in connection with the INX Media case.

The court is slated to hear the plea on October 3. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested Chidambaram on August 21 following which he was sent to judicial custody till October 3 by the court.

While CBI is probing the corruption allegations, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is looking into money laundering allegations against him in the case.

Chidambaram is facing probe for alleged irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance given to INX Media to the tune of Rs 305 crore in 2007 when he was the Union finance minister.

Intro:The Supreme Court has posted the petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 on 14th November for hearing. The constitution bench headed by Justice NV Ramana observed that government needs to be given some time to reply. AG KK Venugopal and SG Tushar Mehta had sought some time today before the bench to reply.


Body:The bench said, "We can't decide the matter if we don't give time to the government to respind."

On ML Sharma's petition Justice SK Kaul said that there is no ground in his petition other than that he filed it in 48 or 72 hours.

The court aslo directed the registry to verify the status of earlier petitions challenging the validity of Articles 370 and 35A. It also asked the registry to not entertain any more petitions on the matter.
