New Delhi: The Apeejay School administration has agreed to provide compensation to people whose vehicles were damaged during the wall collapse incident on Wednesday, said Lado Sarai ward councillor Kishanwati who inspected the spot and spoke to the school administration regarding the matter.
On being asked whether they took the permission of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) while starting the construction work of the school building, they had no reply, Kishanwati told ETV Bharat.
The ward councillor further said that the school administration assured to pay the compensation amount by Saturday.
If not, we will file a case against the school administration, she added.
At least twelve parked cars were badly damaged after a portion of the boundary wall of Apeejay School in south Delhi’s Saket J-block collapsed due to the heavy rain around 11.30 am on Wednesday. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
On Thursday, DCP (South) Atul Kumar Thakur said, “The wall collapsed allegedly due to rain. An FIR under IPC section 427 (mischief causing damage) has been filed after a complaint was received by owners whose vehicles were damaged. The matter is being investigated.”
