New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognisance of a video showing a man shooting a 60-year-old woman to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj and has written to the Director General of Police demanding “strict legal action” against the perpetrator.
“We came across a disturbing video of a 60-year-old woman being shot at close range in Uttar Pradesh. The accused must face strict legal action for committing the crime,” said NCW.
In the one-minute video shot from the terrace of an adjacent building in Kasganj, the man is seen pointing a country-made pistol at the woman and threatening her on the street below. The woman gets up and tries to run into her house, which is when the man pulls the trigger.
The woman can be seen falling on her back and writhing in pain.

While the neighbours kept recording the video, none of them came to the rescue of the woman.
Meanwhile, the accused, Monu, has been arrested.
Another man, who sheltered him after the murder, has also been arrested, while the woman's neighbours, who filmed the murder, will face legal action, as per reports.
