Latehar: A murder accused, who was being treated for coronavirus at an isolation centre here, escaped, official sources said.
They said the person was the main accused in the murder case of BJP leader Jaivardhan Singh, who was shot dead at a market under Barwahdih Police Station limits by unidentified assailants earlier this month.
He was arrested recently and as he was being sent to jail, he was found out be infected by the contagious disease. Following which he was sent to the district coronavirus isolation centre, the sources said.
On Monday, he escaped from the centre, they said.
Meanwhile, three prisoners have also escaped from the district jail here in the past few days, raising the concern over the security arrangements in the district.
