Mother of deceased COVID-19 positive patient dies in Madhya Pradesh

Bano Bi, mother of Ikbal Mansoori - a Madhya Pradesh-based journalist - who died due to contraction of coronavirus disease, passed away on Sunday under peculiar circumstances at a hospital in Dewas district of the state. The elderly woman was showing symptoms of COVID-19, but her test results are yet to come in.

Dewas (Madhya Pradesh): A few days after Ikbal Mansoori, a Madhya Pradesh-based journalist, died due to contraction of coronavirus disease, his elderly mother also passed away on Sunday under peculiar circumstances at a hospital in Dewas district of the state.

Bano Bi was receiving treatment at the hospital at Amaltas Hospital & Medical College (AIMS) as she was showing symptoms of COVID-19.

“Bano Bi was also displaying symptoms of coronavirus disease but her test reports are yet to come in,” said Dr Rakesh Kumar Saxena, Chief Medical and Health Officer, AIMS.

Mansoori’s son has also been admitted at AIMS as a precautionary measure given that he is suffering from cough and cold - classic symptoms of coronavirus disease.

If Bano Bi’s test reports turn out to be positive for coronavirus infection, then this would be the second death in the district due to the disease.

With 40 more persons testing positive for coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state climbed to 572, with the death toll reaching 44 after four more persons died in the state.

Bano Bi was receiving treatment at the hospital at Amaltas Hospital & Medical College (AIMS) as she was showing symptoms of COVID-19.

“Bano Bi was also displaying symptoms of coronavirus disease but her test reports are yet to come in,” said Dr Rakesh Kumar Saxena, Chief Medical and Health Officer, AIMS.
