New Delhi: It will be business as usual for the re-elected Narendra Modi led NDA government in 2019 as well. ETV Bharat has learnt that as part of his multi-lateral commitments, Prime Minister Modi will visit seven countries this year.
Just like 2014, Prime Minister Modi will start his second tenure by visiting a neighbouring country in a bid to solidify India's long commitment towards its neighbours.
Immediately, after that Prime Minister Modi will visit the SCO summit scheduled to be held in Kyrgystan from June 13th to 15th. Sources have also told ETV Bharat that PM Modi is likely to meet Chinese President Xi Jingping on the sidelines of the SCO summit.
For the first time in the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit, PM Modi and Pakistan PM Imran Khan will be under the same roof.
Narendra Modi will also take part in the G20 summit scheduled to be held in Japan in the last week of June. As per MEA sources, PM Modi is likely to meet U.S President Donald Trump on the sidelines of this summit.
In the last week of August, Prime Minister Modi will also attend the G7 summit. Not long after that, he will visit Vladivostok, Russia to take part in the Eastern Economic Forum.
Prime Minister Modi is also likely to address the United Nations General Assembly session in New York in September. Though its dates are decided yet. And last but not the least, his multi-lateral commitments for 2019 will end with the BRICS summit in Brazil in November.
After his electoral victory in 2014, Prime Minister Modi had visited Bhutan but it is still unclear which country he will choose this time.
