PM Modi, MEA Jaishankar wish 'Team MEA' on IFS Day

On the occasion of Indian Foreign Service day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to IFS officers. PM lauded their work towards serving the nation saying that their efforts during Vande Bharat Mission and other COVID related help to the citizens and other nations is noteworthy. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar extended his wishes to 'Team MEA' for their dedication and diligence especially at the COVID times.

New Delhi: Greeting Indian Foreign Service officers on IFS day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that their work towards serving the nation and furthering national interests globally are commendable.

Their efforts during the Vande Bharat Mission, which was launched to bring Indians home from abroad during the COVID-19 pandemic as international travel came to a halt, and other related help to our citizens and other nations is noteworthy, Modi added.

In a tweet, the prime minister said, "On IFS day, greetings to all #IndianForeignService officers. Their work towards #ServingTheNation, furthering national interests globally are commendable. Their efforts during Vande Bharat Mission and other COVID related help to our citizens and other nations is noteworthy."

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar too wished 'Team MEA' on the Indian Foreign Services (IFS) Day saying their dedication and diligence is especially appreciated in COVID times.

He further said that they must remain focused on enhancing global understanding of India and its interests.

"On #IFSDay, extend my best wishes to Team MEA. We have always risen to the occasion; current challenges call on us to do even more. Your dedication and diligence is especially appreciated in the COVID times. Our adapting to virtual diplomacy has also been commendable," Jaishankar tweeted.

Russian ambassador to India Nikolay Kudashev congratulated Indian diplomats on the occasion.

"Congratulations to Indian diplomats #ServingTheNation on the occasion of the #IndianForeignService (IFS) Day!," he tweeted.
