New Delhi: As Pakistan fails to internationalise India's decision to modify Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale claimed that Russian federation completely stands with India.
Vijay Gokhale will be accompanying PM Modi to his visit to Russia on September 4.
Addressing to a media query, Gokhale said, "Let me make it very clear that the Russian Federation is fully behind India whether it's related to the decision on Article 370 or cross border terrorism."
Pakistan has been constantly trying to internationalise Kashmir issue by raising this matter at different forums. Though it has got support from its all-weather ally China, many prominent nations like Russia, U.S, Germany, U.K and France have backed India.
Russia has been a vocal supporter of India's move to modify Article 370. During the UNSC consultative meet last month, Russian side backed India saying that the decision on Article 370 is an internal matter of India. And, both India and Pakistan should resolve Kashmir issue bilaterally.
